Our vision is a vaccine to eradicate meningitis. Our mission is to find one.

Meningitis UK has a single focus - to find a vaccine to protect against all forms of meningitis and associated diseases.

Meningitis UK's 'Search 4 a Vaccine Campaign' aims to raise £7 million to help fund cutting-edge research to develop a vaccine against Meningitis B, which causes almost 90% of cases in the UK and for which there is currently no vaccine.

Meningitis - Meningitis Charity - Meningitis Fundraising

Meningitis UK is here to help those who have been affected by meningitis deaths. Meningitis bereavement can be very difficult as a death can happen so quickly from the onset of becoming ill, that it can be very hard to take in a death.

There are a number of ways that Meningitis UK can help with those suffering from meningitis bereavement. Firstly we offer Peer Support, this is where you can talk to others who have been affected by meningitis deaths, it can help to share stories and experiences in order to try and come to terms with your loss. We also offer Forever Funds which is not only a way of fund raising to prevent meningitis but also a way to pay tribute to a lost loved one and share their story with the rest of the world.

As a meningitis charity we understand the importance of feeling like you are doing something to help when you have been affected by a meningitis death. This is why we offer people a chance to come and meet our researchers, so they can witness first hand what we are doing to try and prevent others become victims of these killer infections.

We also offer someone to talk to; this simple gesture can be of the upmost importance when someone is suffering. The founder of Meningitis UK, Steve Dayman has first hand experience of losing a child to meningitis and had made it a lifelong mission to invest his time and experience into the meningitis charity. He makes himself available 24/7 to bereaved parents and loved ones to offer emotional support in people’s hour of need.

We feel it’s important for others to share their stories, we therefore offer people the chance to share their personal stories. We believe this can help in acceptance and also helps promotes meningitis fundraising, to find a vaccine and prevent others going through a meningitis death is what most of the bereaved wish to accomplish.
