Abseils

Abseiling is a great challenge for those who fancy trying something different whilst raising much needed funds for Meningitis UK!  It is a controlled descent down a rope, from the top of a structure.

 

We have abseil locations all over the UK and they include bridges, water towers, office blocks and even castles! Abseiling is fun, exhilarating, and safe. You can see wonderful views of your surroundings from the top and feel a massive sense of achievement as you lower yourself to the ground.

For many years climbers have used abseiling as a method of returning to the ground, and you get the fun of descending without having the hard work of ascending! In fact, the first abseil was in 1876 so it is a well-establised activity!

Booking onto an abseil day can cost as little as £30 and there is no minimum sponsorship goal, we just ask that you raise as much as you can towards our Search 4 a Vaccine.

Avon Mega Abseil Challenge - Saturday 22 October 2012 with Adventure Cafe

Get ready for one of the biggest steps of your life, and a big adrenaline rush! Stepping back out over the towering descent of the Avon Gorge - some 190 feet. This will be a challenge to remember, and to be proud of!

This event will cost you £34 and then Meningitis UK will ask you to raise as much money for the charity as possible. In return Meningitis UK will send you out a fundraising pack, which includes Meningitis UK t-shirt, sponsorship forms, awareness materials and fundraising hints and tips.

Avon Mega Abseil - 23rd October 2010

Congratulations to all those who took part in the Avon Mega Abseil Challenge on the 23rd October 2010. It was an absolutely fantastic day, even in the pouring rain! Thank you very much to all those who took part in the abseil and those who came to show their support.

Zipslides

If you fancy descending at a faster pace, why not raise sponsorship through doing a zipslide? A zipslide couldn't be easier, the instructors strap you in at the top of the wire, and let gravity do the rest! It is an exhilarating ride, often through beautiful scenery, available in various locations over the UK.

 

You can take part in a sponsored zipslide all over the UK and booking your place on a zipslide can cost as little as £35. There is no minimum sponsorship goal, we just ask that you raise as much as you can towards our Search 4 a Vaccine Campaign.
