Other ways to help

As well as giving a donation or fundraising, there are plenty of other ways to help Meningitis UK. Here are just a few...

Easyfundraise for Meningitis UK

Participating Easyfundraising retailers

Meningitis UK has teamed up with Easyfundraising, an online shopping directory which allows you to raise money whilst shopping on the web. Easyfundraising lists some of your favourite online stores including Amazon, Argos, Next, Debenhams, John Lewis, Toys R Us, HMV and over 2000 others. If you shop online anyway, visit our simple three step guide to Easyfundraising for more information.

Buy and sell on eBay

If you feel like you could do with a clear out, or are a regular ‘eBayer' and would like to donate some of the proceeds from your sales, you can now sell items on eBay and donate between 10% and 100% of the proceeds to Meningitis UK.

Alternatively, if you would like to buy something to benefit the cause, you can take a look through what's on offer as all items feature a charity ribbon, our name and logo and the percentage that is being donated.

Fundraise by buying or donating unique gifts and experiences

Buy Once Give Twice - Charity Auction Site

Buy Once Give Twice is an upmarket auction site which offers stylish lots placed by charities and their supporters. Examples include VIP tickets, luxury home/fashion accessories, unusual holidays and money-can't-buy celebrity opportunities. 85% of the price paid on the item will go direct to Meningitis UK.

To look at the lots on offer or find out how to donate any lots which you think might be appropriate, please visit buyoncegivetwice (external link) to find out how easy fundraising for charity is.

Money for old mobiles

Mobile Phone Recycling

Meningitis UK has teamed up with Empty Cartridge Recycling Ltd, which means you can turn your old mobile phones and all those empty ink cartridges knocking around the office into lifesaving donations for Meningitis UK. We will receive £5.00 for each mobile phone that can be switched on. Cartridges are valued individually.

All you need to do to raise vital funds for Meningitis UK is ask us to send you a freepost envelope and then send your item back to Empty Cartridge Recycling Ltd.

Please note that Empty Cartridge Recycling Ltd do not accept EPSON inkjet or LASER cartridges or RIBBONS & PHONE CHARGERS.

To order a freepost envelope or if you have any questions, please contact our Fundraising Team on 0117 947 6320 or email fundraising@meningitisUK.org.

Everyclick Counts... Raise money just by searching the web

Every Click

We are delighted to announce that Meningitis UK has joined forces with Everyclick.com - the search engine that helps charity. Everyclick is an internet search engine with a big difference - it donates half its revenues to charity

To raise money for Meningitis UK every time you search the web, please go to Meningitis UK's Everyclick page (external link) and click 'Make everyclick your home page'.

Donate by tax return

Donate by Tax Return

Did you know that if you complete a self assessment tax return, you can donate all or part any repayment due? The refund is treated as a Gift Aid donation, which means Meningitis UK can get an extra 28p from the Inland Revenue for every pound you give.

When completing your self assessment form, all you have to do is include Meningitis UK's unique code - UAA75SG - in the box provided to ensure the charity receives your tax refund.

For further information, please contact the fundraising team on 0117 947 6320 or email fundraising@meningitisuk.org You can also phone the Inland Revenue's website or phone their charity helpline on 08453 02 02 03.

Plus don't forget, we are also always on the look out for volunteers, which is a great way to help and meet new friends, plus we also have a great range of merchandise in our online shop.  We would also really value your feedback if you've got a spare couple of minutes to fill in our online feedback form. This really helps to make us more effective.
