Meningitis UK is a Bristol based meningitis charity with a national presence.  Our main aim is to raise money to fund research into finding a vaccine for the prevention of meningitis caused by infection.

We aim to do this with meningitis fundraising.  There are many ways that you can get involved.  Meningitis walks are arranged three times a year by meningitis UK nationwide, so there is always sure to be one local to you.  Meningitis runs are also available for those who are a little more athletic.  Meningitis UK has a team taking part in the Great North Run in September and have golden bond places in many other marathon runs in a bid to raise money and awareness of our meningitis charity and its vision.

There are many other ways that you can help with meningitis fund raising such as bike rides, holding a ball, taking part in an overseas challenge and for those adrenaline junkies, parachute jumping.  You can also organise your own event, we have a useful guide to help get you started. Meningitis UK also offers forever funds which enable you to set up a fund in memory of a loved one, this can be viewed and accessed all over the world and is a place where people can make donations and also pay tribute to a loved one.

Whether it is a meningitis walk or a meningitis run, every event helps massively in the search for a vaccine.  We actively encourage children to take part in any events possible.  Meningitis children hold a special place in our hearts, we believe that because they are one of the most susceptible groups to meningitis, children should be aware of the disease and also of the efforts going on into searching for a vaccine to try and prevent the disease having a presence in their lives.
