After effects of meningitis

Meningitis is a life-altering disease. Those who survive can be left with serious after effects including:

  • deafness
  • loss of sight
  • learning difficulties
  • memory issues
  • behavioural problems
  • amputations (where septicaemia is involved)

While our primary aim is to find a vaccine to protect against meningitis we know there are many people living with the impact of this disease and we work in partnership with the Meningitis Trust to support them.

Meningitis Trust logoThe Meningitis Trust is the primary UK provider of professional services and community based support for people affected by meningitis. It helps around 20,000 people each year with a range of services provided by formally qualified and skilled professionals.

  • family days
  • art therapy
  • home visits
