A SHIRT signed by football legend Pele looks set to raise £1,000 at a fashion, music and dance extravaganza this Saturday.
The memorabilia signed by the Brazilian, who is widely regarded as the best footballer of all time, is just one of several unique lots up for grabs at The Hobbs Show.
As it has an authentication certificate on the back and a photo of him actually signing it, organisers are hoping it will boost profits for Meningitis UK.
Bristol urban artist Ugo Bruni is also offering a bespoke portrait session, combining spray paint on canvas and the use of multi-media technology.
Tickets are still available for the Colston Hall show which boasts the city's leading fashion, style and music talents.
Highlights include jazz-soul singer Beth Rowley, who is previewing two tracks from her new album, live graffiti on a 10ft by 10ft screen by artists Dicy and FLX, jazz dancers The Floor Technicians, plus a whole host of local designers.
Gladiator Battleaxe, otherwise known as Shirley Webb, will be joining former England cricketer Syd Lawrence and BBC Sports presenter Geoff Twentyman on the catwalk.
The show is being organised by well-known Bristol hairdresser Doug Hobbs, who is donating all profits to Bristol-based Meningitis UK due to the tragic loss of his son Jamie to the disease 33 years ago.
Doug said: "The signed Pele shirt is a major coup. We're going to be auctioning this and the other exciting lots at the after show party, which promises to be an occasion in itself.
"It's going to be a night to remember which will reinforce Bristol's place on the fashion map."
All profits will go towards Meningitis UK's Search 4 a Vaccine Campaign, which aims to raise £7million to fund vital research into developing a vaccine against Meningitis B - the most common form of meningitis in the UK.
Steve Dayman, who founded the charity after his son Spencer died from the disease, added: "We'll be looking for bids in the region of £1,000 for the Pele shirt as it's such a unique item which we think will be popular given that the World Cup's on.
"The fashion show looks set to be a fantastic night and our thanks go to Doug for dedicating so much of his time to organising this event.
"We hope that local people will support this celebration of Bristol's culture, fashion, music and dance scenes."
Tickets start at £20 and can be purchased via the Colston Hall website - www.colstonhall.org or by calling the box office on 0117 922 3686.
