Steve strides out for a 334 mile mission

CHARITY boss Steve Dayman is preparing to put his best foot forward for a 334 mile walk through the country.
The Meningitis UK chief executive will be treading the roads between Bridlington in Yorkshire to Brighton on the south coast.
He hopes his latest endeavour will raise £50,000 for the charity's vaccine research work.
Steve, from Alveston, near Thornbury, has now walked the equivalent of half way round the world in memory of his son Spencer who died from meningitis and meningococcal septicaemia in 1982, aged 14-months.
The latest challenge starts on October 2 and will take 16 days, during which he will be joined by around 100 supporters en route.
Every penny from this year's autumn walk will go towards Meningitis UK's Search 4 a Vaccine Campaign, which aims to fund cutting-edge research to find a preventative vaccine and save thousands of lives in the future.
Steve walked 201 miles across Northern Ireland in May, which took his total to £1.8million raised through walks alone since he began fundraising after Spencer's death.
He said: "This will be my 30th marathon walk. I didn't think my knees would last this long!
"I'm not getting any younger but will keep going as long as I can. Obviously the money raised on the walk's important because it enables us to continue our vital work, but it also raises the profile of the charity and the disease in general.
"It's an opportunity for many of our supporters to join in along the way and I hope it will be enjoyable for everyone who joins me."
The Bridlington to Brighton walk begins on October 2 and passes through Driffield, Beverly, Goole, Thorne, Bawtry, Retford, Southwell, Nottingham, Loughborough, Hinkley, Southam, Banbury, Woodstock, Wantage, Newbury, Basingstoke, Alton, Petworth and Shoreham before ending in Rottingdean on October 17.
